What Is Internet
It’s a busy life nowadays and people want information that is quickly accessible anywhere anytime. By far internet is the fastest medium by which we can get any and every information with the click of a mouse. So the information is seconds away from us.
Many of us do wonder that what exactly is internet. The simple answer to it is that it’s an interconnected web of networks that uses the internet protocol. By internet protocol we mean the TCP/IP protocol which rules the internet. The internet has millions of private and public networks which are linked by fiber optic cables, copper wires and wireless connections or through other technologies.
It all started in 1960 in the United States and since then it has crossed all leaps and bounds in providing information to the people. By the year 1990 internet became the buzz word and everyone was looking forward to it.
The internet often called the World Wide Web carries tremendous amount of information. Other than sending and receiving mails and searching the web, the internet is also used for online chat, file sharing, file transfers and the most recent one Voice over Internet Protocol through which a person can communicate with another person through voice. It is very effective and has been used for medical & research purposes.
The internet is vastly used for searching information and this is done primarily through search engines. You just type the thing that you want to search and you will find loads of information regarding it.
